We have always been a big fan of crayola, but this tower is not up to standard. It doesn't stay up, falls apart, flops shut, and when you try to get it to expand, if the "stoppers" don't work, markers fly out of it everywhere. It's difficult to manipulate, and, when you do get it set up, you have to have a feather light touch in order for it not to collapse-- something my seven year old is not likely to manage. We've had it for about a month now, and we started having issues the first day-- I regret not returning it...

My four year old just got this marker set for her birthday. I suggested the Pipsqueaks markers to a family member because of their size. Not too long ago I had read an article that indicated that young children have an easier time learning to write if they are using a shorter writing implement. Since my little one is only willing to write in marker, I thought I was doomed. Then, I discovered a 16 count package of Pipsqueaks in a local store. I had no idea when I suggested these markers as a gift idea for my daughter that they came in a 50 count package. My girls are in love with the variety of colors that are now at their fingertips. Having 50 colors is obviously a lot more fun than the 16 colors we had previously. My four year old likes that these markers are small, just like her. The telescoping case is a really nice touch. Since it's clear, it allows my girls to easily find the perfect color for their art work. It's also a great way to keep the markers organized. Before getting this set, we had all of our markers stored in a plastic container where you had to dig to find the color you wanted. The fact that these markers are washable is enough to make this a wonderful product on it own. I know from past experience that Crayola washable makers wash out of just about everything. Once you discover the joys of washable markers, you'll want to toss all those non-washable markers and probably wonder why they even still make the non-washable ones.
